CREATIVE CRIBS

ALEXIA BARREIRO | episode 12

Creative Cribs November: Alexia Barreiro @abcd_2010 - an IG handle that marks the year she got started (talk about a 10 year challenge). Graphic Designer, painter, and artist; this girl does it all. From logos to murals, Alexia has been thinking like an artist since a young age.

Growing up in a household of artists, she was brought up to draw and think creatively. In high school, her stylized drawings got noticed and she was commissioned for projects for the school and city. Since college and moving to Denver, Alexia has been doing logos and graphic designs for clients and companies around Colorado.

When going to her house it’s obvious that she can’t NOT create. From the tiny hand drawn signs to the huge paintings around her house, she made almost everything on each wall. Using your own art to fill your home environment is sincerely beneficial for your brain, and helps to keep creating. Even the smallest mundane details like a “flush” sign were drawn out intentionally and add to the whole aesthetic. Her crib was super inspiring to be in and made me want to draw.

She doodles often and uses everything as inspiration. Looking in her sketch book you can watch the inner workings of her imagination start to evolve into a final project. Her newest mural “Have The Time of Your Life” was found in her sketch book, and now you can see it at the store front of @midnightramblerboutique.
Alexia’s crib is a perfect example of how a home can echo a personality.

Take a look at the photos of her house. There’s no TV but tons of hand drawings, textures, and colors. BTW If you need a cute idea for gifts - she does $25 custom drawings for anyone so feel free to check out her page and slide into those DMs. I know I did.

Sign: Capricorn.

Top musical artists currently jamming: Beach House, Beach Fossils, Cherry Glazer, TV Girl, and always Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Fav thing to do in your crib when you’re not working: Chill with my cats and boyfriend, paint, and draw all the time because it’s hard to separate myself from my inspirations.
