This month for creative cribs I am featuring an artist from another city! In celebration of the Nashville editorial in @boulderlifestyle, I am highlighting Nashville based mural artist Sarah Tate (IG: @sarahliztate).

Sarah started out addressing wedding invitations, making a splash on Etsy. Over the years she has been commissioned more and more to paint, and between her many activities and talents, she works as a mural artist in Nashville, but doesn't let that define her.

Her first mural in Nashville is a message: "It's gonna be O.K." after the flooding in the city had caused a great amount of tragedy for many people. This message from the disaster became a city-wide slogan, and Sarah's artwork quite literally brightened the energy. Her work has only grown since.

Sarah has a lust for life like no other. She grew up going fishing, surfing, hiking, swimming. She’s traveled much of the U.S. in her own van, and is constantly exploring new places and taking in new inspiration.

Her style is very airy and light, clean and bright, with fun pops of color. Her line work, shapes, and even color schemes are reminiscent of an older generation that reminds me of early Pink Floyd album covers and surf-wax america Beach Boys vibes.

Likewise with Sarah's crib. The house is a communal space that‘s been shared by musicians and artists over the years. There's a recording room, a living room with a piano, and her room has numerous paints and a surfboard. The colors in her space echo the palettes she uses outside, anywhere from bright pinks and pastel yellows, to robins egg blue and seafoam green.

Sarah is the perfect mix of beach & mountains, of yesteryear & today, and she is a golden ray of vintage sunshine to be around. She mentioned that one of her favorite things to say is "No". I LOVE that. She’s a badass. Check out her crib.
