CREATIVE CRIBS

BRYN CARTER | episode 10

Creative Cribs September: Bryn Carter @blueeyedbird12, co-creator and 1/2 of @thesafewordis + founder of @charleycowork. I am featuring two places in one this month, her home and the new women’s co-working community.

@blueeyedbird12 Is an overall bad ass bitch who quite literally makes ideas into realizations. Over the last two years I’ve watched her grow and seen what can be created when great minds get together. Most recently she is the founder of a women’s co-working community space that welcomes all - @charleycowork.

By the way the home is clean and styled like an office, you can tell she’s always had a boss mentality, surrounding herself with conceptual art promoting powerful messages and women empowerment. Vintage, classy, with a twist of savage. Much like Charley Co spaces, and from every event that she’s help put on, it’s evident that she surrounds herself with positive and motivating messages and themes. Especially when it comes to inspiring women. Her collaborations both in design and with people (such as @shaylapreeshl) all lead to inventive and unique things. I can see a parallel between the way she decorates at home and how she designed Charley Co. The layout, original art pieces, and the wall to wall collages are echoed in this new space. The messages in the art: all positive shit with an edge.

As she spends most of her time outside of her crib working, working-out, hosting events, managing spaces, and networking - as well as preparing to move- I only photographed her main space in the house. In addition, there are shots from inside @charleycowork to see how one’s home life / interests/ decor are projected in our outside lives and creations.

Fav thing to do in your crib when you’re not working: Catching up work, on adult things like laundry. This home right now is an in-between spot during parts of her day. At the moment it serves as a calm zone between her interactions throughout the day.
